Rikki Hughes

Iconic and Influential

Rikki Hughes is a showrunner of comedy specials, award shows, television series, and independent features. Since 2018, she has won two Emmys and three Grammys and is the first Black woman in Emmy history to win in the category of Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded). 

The Dreamer’s Journey

Hughes began in the music business but segued into television by producing awards shows and comedy specials such as The BET 25th Anniversary Special, The BET Comedy Awards, and the Katt Williams’ special “It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin.’” Eventually, Hughes became BET’s go-to producer for their specials Rip the Runway, BET HIP-HOP Awards, and BET Honors.

Future Greatness

Greene is currently a partner at Magic Lemonade, a film and TV production house, and has produced Dave Chapelle’s acclaimed comedy specials for Netflix, as well as a comedy series for HBO based on the All Def Comedy special. By promoting Black voices in media, Greene hopes to inspire us all to Dream in Black.
