Calling all HBCU students to rise up!

AT&T Dream in Black Rising Future Makers is a program that looks to celebrate, recognize, and reward an influential class of 25 HBCU students making a difference in their communities and on their campuses, all before they even finish their degrees.

How Rising Future Makers works.

AT&T is committed to helping HBCU students rise as the next generation of changemakers—to power their possibilities. This happens in three ways:
We celebrate students from HBCUs who have been doing game-changing work in their communities and on their campuses.
We recognize, reward, and support these students with a financial grant, technology package, and professional development.
We connect Rising Future Makers with industry leaders who are experts in their fields—providing students with access to experiences and advocacy from established executives and AT&T Black Future Makers.

Cool, so what could I have the chance to win?

Each AT&T Dream in Black Rising Future Maker will embark on the journey of a lifetime by winning a highly coveted Dream Package:
  • $5Gs presented by AT&T 5G
  • 5G-enabled tech package including 1 year of AT&T Wireless service
  • Access to celebrity advocates
  • Community celebration at your local HBCU AT&T Dream in Black retail location
  • Virtual 1-day Rising Future Maker event
  • Rising Future Maker swag kit
  • Awareness of programs and internship opportunities...
  • ...and, of course, national recognition and bragging rights!
Pretty much anything we can do to help you continue to rise!

Bet, so how do I apply or nominate an HBCU student I know?

It’s really easy!
  • Make sure you or the student you’re nominating is currently enrolled at an HBCU.
  • Post a 3060-second video on Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok using the hashtags #ATTRisingFutureMaker and #DreamInBlack.
  • Tell us how you’re shaping the now, the new, and the next, and why you deserve to be recognized as one of our inaugural 25 Rising Future Makers.
  • If nominating someone, you must tag that student in your official AT&T contest post.
All currently enrolled HBCU students ages 18–25 are eligible to apply and be nominated.
September 15 to October 31, 2021.
